What is Endocrinology?

Endocrinology is the medical specialization dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the endocrine system, which is composed of the glands responsible for producing hormones. Hormones act in different places in our body, being fundamental for human growth and development, for the reproductive system and for metabolism.

What is an Endocrinologist about?

The endocrinologist treats disorders in the functioning of various glands (such as the pituitary gland, thyroid, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, pancreas, ovaries and testicles) and the endocrine organ, adipose tissue.
